I enjoy having my classmates around, watching their wonderful poses, in yoga and dance classes.
However, I understand they all have two sides, the pleasant side and the not-so-pleasant side, as in the picture below.
They look wonderful because they show their RIGHT side while hiding the LEFT side.
Clear the sewer pipe in one weekend
Blocked sewer pipe couldn't wait and I took the job head on.
Plumber's snake was not enough; the heat generated by chemicals made the final push.
Not just the plumbing skills, I had to tolerate the smell, which was more demanding.
Fitness: a typical day, but first time with my free Fitbit, delivered yesterday
At the beginning of this month, all the treadmills were taken, but at end of the month, e.g. today, most of them are free.
Gym work as new year resolution is not that hard, but it is hard sticking to it, day after day, month after month, year after year...
I started working in the IPTV business exactly a year ago.
Going home late in the moonlight, everyday, knowing there is a piece of my work, running all over the world.
It's much appreciated that I was given this chance to work on embedded Linux for those AT&T TV boxes.
Full steam ahead
Hackers can control my PC even though I didn't do anything wrong, on my Ubuntu, learned today
What we think unbreakable is actually not. Thinking further, the day will come when the public/private key encryption used by banks and government collapses; it may not happen in my life time though.
The theory for encryption is still a hypothesis, after all.
When I was small, we used our muscle power to make food from the earth: with my grandparents, we pulled a stone roller, under the mid-noon sun, to peel wheat. We pushed another stone roller to grind wheat into flour. We rolled a windlass with our hands to lift water from well.
Life had been like that for thousands of years until just tens of years ago, when people not longer sweat for food.
Why don't we feel blessed?
Bike showcase, before the pain totally brings me down
My flexibility is deteriorating, and the pain brought me to Herndon Chiropractic Hayward yesterday.
Even though exhausted, I stand tall, feeling the breeze, on my bike, in this flower blooming season, 2016.
My phone number has changed
I just transferred from t-mobile to
This 415-894.... number replaced my 415-483.... number.
I am such a big fan of Google that I switched without thinking :)
My little daughter, would you still like to whisper into daddy's ear when you become a big girl?
Grand opening of our new gym in Santa Clara today; free gym is better than free meals.
When I get to the root of Bitcoin
Everyone knows all the transactions in the whole world. Therefore everyone knows everyone's balance.
If you have half of all the computing power in the world, you break bitcoin system, by double spending.
I usually skip lunch, unless it's free:)
Celebrating 140 year birthday, our CEO visited from Sweden, bringing free lunch to everyone.
My Extension to the Equivalence Principle
as part of General Relativity, Albert Einstein
The happiness generated from lack of money in the past is the same as the one generated from the abundance of money now.
Just like you can never tell if the earth is pulling you down or you are accelerating upward.
My definition of EQ:
The ability to improve life quality of yourself, and others, often in a non-monetary way.
The way I see if I am doing the right thing, is by how much I would have done differently when looking back years later.
The reason I am rich today is that I don't have the things I don't want to live with.
What makes life enjoyable, is not just you did what you wanted, but also you avoided what you hated.
Until I worked night shifts for the Olympics in 2010, I didn't realize how wonderful it is to sleep the whole night through.
Santa Clara Convention Center， Jun.25, 2016
The party last Sat was a wild blast, so wild that I was allowed to go on the stage:)
Today is the grand opening of Santa Clara Square Market Place.
As part of it, CorePower Yoga is quite close to our office as photo is taken from by my desk.
Yoga is time consuming, expensive, and not as much fun. We are not certain how much health benefit is there.
I have been on it for three years, in addition to my regular gym, and not sure if I should continue on yoga...
My trip to Singapore with my parents and brother
Taking care equals happy life
I bought this car in 2006, when Toyota Matrix just came out. And then, best friends never part.
For over 10 years, it gives me zero trouble; it even towed a trailer for 1000 miles a few years back.
I take good care of it too with professional maintenance twice a year.
Yesterday I brought it to wheel alignment, and the technician told me I didn't really need one:)
There are something that can never be transformed to any of human senses such as vision and hearing,
just like an offset on X axis can never be reflected on Y. They are orthogonal to our senses.
We can safely say "What cannot be perceived doesn't exist" because they never has any impact on us.
Why is the whole world calling noon 12pm?
12pm should be midnight.
11:59pm + 1min = 12:00pm, see? it's midnight
For anything technical, I prefer 24:00 Sunday == 0:00 Monday
I took this video of Neit's flips by my phone earlier tonight.
I wish he can be my coach.
Thanks to Alexei for showing me his giant swings.
I wish my children to marry a mature person.
Mature people too hurt others to benefit themselves, but at least, they don't do things that hurt BOTH others and themselves.
The same is true for making friends.
There is a kind of people, who cannot feel good unless others around them feel good.
There is also another kind of people, who can never feel good unless other feel bad.
Confidence comes from, and only from, past success.
I am not, and have never been, confident, and I don't think that's a bad thing.
Tan traveled thousands of miles alone at age 8, and Lynn went on the stage at 4. I wish they become confident people.
When you have nobody you can make a cup of tea for, when nobody needs you, that's when I think life is over.
I go to gym a lot in the hope that after retirement, I can still be useful in my neighborhood, or even at workplace.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, again, and my thanks to the whole wide world.
